The Rizal Memorial Track and Football Stadium ( German Rizal Memorial, Athletics and Football Stadium , or Rizal Memorial Stadium for short) is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Philippine capital Manila .
history
Opened in 1934, it is the main stadium in the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex and is the national stadium of the Philippines . The sports facility is officially the home stadium of the Philippine national soccer team and offers 12,873 seats.
Among other things, it served as the main venue for the Asian Games in 1954 and the Southeast Asian Games in 1981 , 1991 and 2005 . Before its renovation in 2011, the stadium was in dire need of renovation and was not approved for international matches.
