description

The tenement house at Roßkampffstrasse 4 in Heilbronn is one of the few remaining buildings in the city that was built in Art Nouveau style. The building was erected for Johann Kunz in 1913 by Adolf Braunwald . The seven-axis facade of the building with corrugated vertical bands and small corrugated balcony protrusions was originally created for the 1907 building of the art dealer Heinrich Grünwald in Heilbronner Kaiserstraße 46 according to plans by the architects Emil Beutinger and Adolf Steiner . When this building was rebuilt in 1913, just a few years after its creation, and united with the neighboring building No. 48 , the lavish facade was not destroyed, but was reused in the new building project in Roßkampffstrasse.

Before it was destroyed in the air raid on Heilbronn on December 4, 1944, the building was twice as wide and extended to the corner of Olga- and Roßkampffstraße. Today only the main gable of the Art Nouveau building stands.
