The Rożnów Mountains (Polish: Pogórze Rożnowskie ) consist of foothills of the Central Beskids in southern Poland in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship . Its highest peak is the Dąbrowska Góra with 583 m. The mountain is named after Rożnów .
geography
The mountains border the Wiśnicz Mountains in the west, the Ciężkowice Mountains in the east, the Low Beskids in the south and the Sandomir Basin in the north . It lies between the Dunajec rivers in the west and Biała in the east.
structure
The 20 km long and 6 km wide mountain range is divided into several ridges.
Cities
The towns in Pogórze Wiśnickie are Zakliczyn and Rożnów .

The mountains are located in the Ciężkowice-Rożnów Nature Park . There are two nature reserves:
- Diable Skały nature reserve
- Styr nature reserve

The Jezioro Rożnowskie bathing lake , a reservoir on the Dunajec, is located on the western edge of the mountains .

There are numerous hiking trails in the Rożnów Mountains.
Long-distance cycle paths
There are numerous cycle paths in the Rożnów Mountains, of which the long-distance cycle path from Tarnów to Jamna is the longest at 73 km.
War cemeteries
At the beginning of the First World War, bitter fighting raged in the mountains between the advancing Russian army and the army of Austria-Hungary. Therefore, there are numerous military cemeteries from the First World War here.
