RoachClip is a German rock band from Freiburg .

history

RoachClip was founded in the summer of 1986 in Freiburg im Breisgau by Sven Bauer and Stephan Studer. Together with Friedemann Weber and Bernd Pflug, a student quartet was formed that was characterized by bluesy hard rock and melodic metal .

Due to the school leaving certificates of the various members, several changes were made between 1986 and 1992. From 1988 to 1992 RoachClip toured several times through southern Germany and Switzerland.

1992 RoachClip's drummer died unexpectedly with Nenad Keul. The band broke up and only got back together in 2008.

The songs by RoachClip since 2008 come almost exclusively from band leader Sven Bauer, artwork and some lyrics by Rainer Schorm . The rock style includes influences from a wide variety of directions such as blues , folk and German herb rock , as well as late medieval melodies and church music were used. In the French region of Alsace , RoachClip became famous for its interpretation of the French children's song Le Bon Roi Dagobert .
