Rob Dyrdek (born June 28, 1974 in Kettering , Dayton , Ohio ) is an American skateboarder and television presenter.

He got into skating on his twelfth birthday when he was given a skateboard. His father recognized his son's talent early on and encouraged him by all means. For example, a small half-pipe was built in the basement of the family house. On this, however, Rob fell and fractured his bone. As a result, he switched to "Street" because the tricks on the half-pipe with the injured arm were not possible.

Dyrdek's big breakthrough in his skating career came with the skate video DC Video , in which he skates on the streets with his security guard Christopher "Big Black" Boykin and shows numerous tricks, especially grinds and slides. Following this film, he produced numerous film projects about skating. He can be seen in the movie Righteous Kill with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro as well as 50 Cent . Since 2009 he has been shooting the television show Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory , which will enter its sixth season in 2014. He can also be found as a "secret" advertising medium and playable character in the games Skate and Skate 2 by EA Black Box. Since 2011 he has hosted the show Ridiculousness , in which he presents short internet clips. In 2010 he founded “Street League Skateboarding”, a global competition.

Rob Dyrdek developed a new type of kickflip : After the board has been kicked into the air to perform a kickflip, it is turned 45 °, i.e. a shifty, and then turned back again.

Since September 20, 2015 Dyrdek is married to the American model and playmate Bryiana Noelle Dyrdek.
