Rob Maas (real name Robertus Leonardus Adrianus Maas ; born December 17, 1969 in Eindhoven ) is a former Dutch football player .

Career

Rob Maas began his footballing career in his hometown of Eindhoven at VC Tuindorp and RPC Eindhoven before playing in the youth of the top club PSV Eindhoven .

Maas received his first professional contract with the second division club FC Eindhoven , where he was able to conquer a regular place in his first season and scored a goal.

For 1990/1991 he signed because of his strong performances with the first division club RKC Waalwijk . There, too, Maas established itself as a core force. After three seasons he moved to the top club Feyenoord Rotterdam in 1993 , where he also spent three seasons and was able to earn a place in the first eleven.

In 1996 he was finally taken under contract by the German Bundesliga club Arminia Bielefeld . During the two years in the Bundesliga , Maas quickly developed into a regular here too. He then moved to Hertha BSC , for which he played from 1998 to 2003. In his first two years he was only a supplementary player before he got more employment opportunities in 2001/2002. But the Dutchman could not prevail in the final analysis, so that in 2003 he moved to the second division club MSV Duisburg . In Duisburg he regained a place as a regular before he only appeared eight times for MSV in 2004/2005.

In 2005 Maas returned to Heracles Almelo in the Netherlands . Problems with the coach prevented more regular missions and after three seasons returned to RKC Waalwijk . After the end of the 2008/2009 season, Maas resigned from active football and has been assistant coach in Waalwijk ever since.
