Rob Savelberg

Rob Savelberg (* 1977 ) is a Dutch journalist and author . He works for various Dutch and German media and is currently a correspondent for the daily De Telegraaf in Berlin .

education and profession

Savelberg studied German and modern history in Amsterdam and Berlin. After completing his studies, he trained as a journalist in Rotterdam. Savelberg has lived in Berlin since 1998.

Savelberg became known in Germany through his critical questions at the press conference on the coalition agreement of the newly elected federal government on October 24, 2009. There he asked Chancellor Angela Merkel why she trusted the previous Federal Minister of the Interior, Wolfgang Schäuble, who was involved in the CDU donation affair, for the office of Federal Minister of Finance . Merkel only replied evasively.
