After graduating from school, he took part in the British National Circuit , the British Racing Tour, and quickly became a podium candidate. At the age of 17 he was crowned youth world champion in slalom and formula racing on Paros .
In 2000 he made his debut in the Windsurf World Cup and only two years later he stood on the podium for the first time at the freestyle event on the Costa Calma . In the coming year he was able to get his first victory there. In the following years he was able to achieve a total of four third places in the annual rankings, but Swift was repeatedly thrown back from serious injuries. Since 2014 he has been able to classify himself again increasingly among the top 10 in wave riding.
Since he was five years old, his greatest goal and wish has been to become world champion.
