The Robert-Schuman-Gymnasium (Saarlouis) ( RSG ; formerly Staatliches Mädchenrealgymnasium Saarlouis ) is a modern-language high school in Saarlouis , but also offers a French bilingual branch and the option of Abibac . It is named after the French politician Robert Schuman .

history

The girls 'secondary school has been located in the building of the former humanistic boys' grammar school in Saarlouis, which was built on the Prälat-Subtil-Ring between 1895 and 1898 and expanded in 1905.

In 1960 the boys' grammar school moved to the current school building, which was built between 1958 and 1960, on the Hornwerk in the city garden and has been called " Gymnasium am Stadtgarten " ever since .

The building on Prälat-Subtil-Ring now offered space for the girls' high school, which was previously located in the premises of today's administrative court of the Saarland. In 1978 the school was renamed the Robert Schuman Gymnasium.

  • English (compulsory from grade 6 to grade 9)

Since the 1989/1990 school year, the RSG has offered a French-bilingual train. In grades 5 and 6 of this train, French is taught three more hours per week. The French-bilingual lessons then start in geography from grade 7, history from grade 8 and social studies / politics from grade 9. The second and third foreign languages are not affected. Since the 1999/2000 school year, the RSG has been the first Saarland school to acquire the Abibac , a recognized Franco-German university entrance qualification, after completing the bilingual course in the upper level . With this one has a German Abitur and a French Baccalauréat , so that the graduates can apply and enroll at French universities without administrative hurdles.
