Robert Alazraki

Robert Alazraki (born September 6, 1944 in Casablanca , Morocco ) is a French cameraman .

Life

Born in North Africa, he went to Grenoble in 1965 and founded the “Ciné-Club Jean Vigo ” there. From there he moved on to Avignon and Aix-en-Provence . He then attended the Royal College of Art in London , where he began working as a cameraman. Back in France, he went to Paris and worked there as a camera assistant for five years. In 1975 he made his first feature film as head cameraman, and more than 70 other productions followed. Kay Less names quiet, poetic films as accompanying his career and Alazraki a “sensitive observer with a weakness for Mediterranean lighting with de-glamourized, almost brittle images”.

Alazraki is vice-president of the “Association française des directeurs de la photographie cinématographique” AFC Alazraki remains connected to his native country through participation in film festivals such as the Festival International du Cinéma Méditerranéen de Tétouan .
