A Summer in La Goulette is a Tunisian-French-Belgian film from 1996. It was directed by Férid Boughedir . The comedy about three teenagers and their fathers ran in 1996 in the competition at the Berlin International Film Festival .

In the summer of 1967 three young girls experience their first love in La Goulette , a seaside resort near Tunis . Meriem is Tunisian and Muslim, Gigi is of Italian descent and Christian, Tina comes from a Tunisian family of Jewish faith. The fathers of the three girls Youssef, Giuseppe and Jojo also have a long friendship. The girls, who do not want a marriage arranged by their parents, vow to lose their innocence before the end of summer. When the fathers learn that their daughters are getting involved with young men from other faiths, the friendship of the three men is put to a severe test.

With Michel Boujenah and Claudia Cardinale , two Tunis-born and internationally successful actors have made guest appearances. Both Boujenah and Cardinale play themselves.
