Robert Berger (born November 7, 1996 in Bad Muskau ) is a Kazakh - German football player . He plays for 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig .

Career

Berger's parents moved to Germany from Kazakhstan . He played for KSV Weißwasser until 2010 and for Energie Cottbus from 2010 . Already in the 2012/13 season he trained together with the professional team. He was in the professional squad for the first time in December 2012. However, he only made his professional debut in May 2014 on the last matchday of the 2013/14 season . At this point, the Cottbus team's relegation from the second division was already certain. Berger was also active for Cottbus in the 2014/15 season, where he scored a goal in 19 games. In January 2016 he moved to FSV Zwickau , with whom he became champion of the Regionalliga Nordost at the end of the season and was promoted to the 3rd division. At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, Berger switched to the regional league team 1. FC Lokokomotive Leipzig .

Berger has played eleven games for the DFB U-17 national team so far. He has been part of the Kazakh U-21 national team since March 2015.
