Robert C. Clark

Robert Charles Clark (* 1944 in New Orleans , Louisiana ) is an American legal scholar and author .

Life

After finishing school, Clark studied theology at Maryknoll College, philosophy at Columbia University, and law at Harvard .

After completing his studies, Clark worked from 1972 to 1974 as a lawyer with Ropes and Gray's law firm in Boston . In 1974 Clark got a job as a professor at Yale University . In 1979, Clark moved from Yale to become a law professor at Harvard. In 1991 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .

Clark was Dean of Harvard Law School from 1989 to 2003 . Successor as dean was Elena Kagan .

His main areas of activity and teaching include commercial and corporate law.

Clark is married to Kathleen Tighe Clark and has two children with her.
