Robert C. Cooper (born October 14, 1968 in Toronto ) is a Canadian writer and director who worked as a production manager on the TV series Stargate SG-1 , Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe . He has also written numerous episodes of Stargate SG-1 , Atlantis and Stargate Universe .

Participation in the Stargate franchise

Cooper was instrumental in creating the backstory for the fictional Stargate universe. For example, he created the Ancients , the race that the Stargates built, and the idea of ​​the Alliance of the Four Races, although two of these races were invented by other authors such as Hart Hanson (the Nox) and Katharyn Powers (the Asgard).

He was deputy production manager since season 4 and production manager of " Stargate - Command SG-1 " since season 5 . He was the production manager of the spin-off " Stargate Atlantis ". In 2007 he produced the Stargate films " Stargate: The Ark of Truth " and " Stargate: Continuum ". After that he produced another offshoot of the Stargate franchise for a while: Stargate Universe . Within the crew, he announced his plans to exit the franchise in winter 2009/2010. In June 2010, Joe Mallozzi (co-producer of the Stargate franchise since 2000) finally advised the public of Cooper's exit. However, he did not disclose why Cooper had made this decision. Cooper himself has not yet taken a position on this either.
