Robert Campbell (mathematician)
Robert Campbell (born October 30, 1912 , † 1985 ) was a French mathematician and philosopher .
Campbell received his doctorate from the Sorbonne in 1951 ( Les fonctions des Mathieu associées ). He was maître de conférences for mathematics at the École polytechnique and later professor of mechanics at the University of Caen .
In addition to introductory works in the series “ Que sais-je? “Monographs on the Mathieu differential equation and the gamma function .
