Robert Cartwright

Robert "Bob" Cartwright (born before 1952) is a former American art director and set designer who was nominated four times for an Oscar for best production design.

Life

Cartwright began his career as an art director and production designer in the Hollywood film industry in 1952 as a draftsman at The Card and worked on around 50 films over the course of around forty years.

At the Academy Awards in 1965 he was nominated with John Bryan , Maurice Carter and Patrick McLoughlin for the first time for the Oscar for the best production design for the color film Becket (1964). In 1971 , together with Terence Marsh and Pamela Cornell, another nomination followed in this category for Scrooge (1970), as well as in 1972 with Marsh and Peter Howitt for the production design in Maria Stuart, Queen of Scotland (1971).

He received a final nomination for an Oscar for best production design at the 1981 Academy Awards with Stuart Craig and Hugh Scaife for The Elephant Man (1980). Bob Cartwright was most recently involved in the production of the television film Jewel Hunt in 1991 as a production designer .
