Robert E. Quirk

Robert Emmett Quirk (born September 22, 1918 in Akron , Ohio , † May 23, 2009 in Bloomington ) was an American historian .

Life

Quirk received his PhD from Harvard University in 1951 . After editing the journals Hispanic American Historical Review and The American Historical Review , he was Professor of History at Indiana University in Bloomington and Director of the Center for Latin American Studies there . In 1965 he received the Guggenheim grant . Today he is emeritus.
