Robert FX Sillerman

Robert FX Sillerman (born April 12, 1948 in New York City - † November 24, 2019 ) was an American businessman and media entrepreneur .

Sillerman owned a number of television and radio stations in the 1970s and 1980s. Together with the radio host Bruce Morrow , he founded the Sillerman-Morrow Broadcasting Group, Inc . In 1993, Sillerman founded SFX Broadcasting, SFX Entertainment and Stage Promotion, sold the station in 2000 for $ 4.4 billion. In 2012, he re-founded a company called SFX Entertainment and went public in 2013 . SFX received USD 260 million, which was used to buy festivals, takeovers and investments in various companies in the EDM industry. Not even 26 months later, SFX filed for bankruptcy.

Sillerman was, among other things, the namesake of the Sillerman Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy at Brandeis University . According to Forbes , he was ranked 375th richest people in the world in 2005. It was also briefly owned by the WLAF New York / New Jersey Knights.
