Robert Feiger

Robert Feiger (born November 1, 1962 in Augsburg ) is a German trade union official and chairman of the IG Bauen-Agrar-Umwelt (IG BAU).

Career

Feiger completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. In 1982 he joined the IG Bau-Steine-Erden trade union (since 1996 IG Bauen-Agrar-Umwelt - IG BAU). As part of his training to become a trade union secretary , he attended the Dortmund Social Academy from 1986 to 1987 . From 1988 to 1992 he was District Secretary in the then District Association of Augsburg. At the beginning of 1992 he switched to the Bavarian State Association as secretary. In mid-1998 he became managing director of the Upper Bavaria District Association. From 2005 he was regional manager for the Bavaria region. At the extraordinary trade union day in April 2007 he was elected as a member of the federal executive committee of IG BAU. In 2009 he became deputy federal chairman of the IG BAU union. Until September 2013 he was a member of the federal executive committee of IG BAU, responsible for personnel and finances.

In July 2013 he was nominated as a candidate for the chairmanship of IG BAU. The previous chairman, Klaus Wiesehügel , was no longer a candidate. Feiger's election as chairman of the union took place on September 10, 2013. He received 83 percent (256 of 308) of the votes cast.

Robert Feiger is the managing director of the call center operator facts - Die Infoline GmbH, which specializes in union members, and was previously a member of the supervisory boards of the southern German construction companies Bauer AG and HeidelbergCement AG, as well as the supplementary pension fund of the building trade AG and the supplementary pension fund of the scaffolding trade VVaG .

Robert Feiger is a member of the SPD .
