Robert Forsythe

Robert E. Forsythe (* 1949 in Pittsburgh ) is an American economist .

Life

Forsythe graduated from Pennsylvania State University , where he received a BS in quantitative business analysis in 1970 . He then moved to Carnegie Mellon University . He graduated from MS diplomas in statistics in 1972 and Economics in 1974. He also received his doctorate in 1975 at Carnegie Mellon University for Ph.D. in economics. From 1975 to 1981, he was Assistant Professor of Business Administration and Management at the California Institute of Technology .

In 1981 Forsythe moved to the University of Iowa , where he held the position of associate professor from 1981 to 1986 and from 1986 to 2006 the position of full economics professor. During this time he held the Cedar Rapids Professorship for Business Administration from 1992 to 2000 and the Leonard A. Hadley Chair for Leadership Behavior from 2000 to 2006 . From 1993 to 1995 he was also President of the Economic Science Association .

Forsythe has been Professor of Finance at the University of South Florida since 2006 . He was Dean of the College of Business from 2006 to 2012 and from 2012 to 2013 Fellow at the US Department of State in the Bureau of the Comptroller and Global Financial Services.

Research priorities

Forsythe deals with global financial markets , game and negotiation theory . He is also active in the field of experimental economic research.
