Robert Gray (poet)

Robert Gray (born February 23, 1945 ) is an Australian poet.

Gray grew up in the small town of Coffs Harbor on the north coast of New South Wales ; this coast is also the scene of many poems which justify his reputation as an outstanding landscape poet. Today he lives in Sydney . Edward Thomas , DH Lawrence and William Carlos Williams are among his literary models. Along with Les Murray, Gray is considered to be one of the most important contemporary Australian poets.
