Robert Grohmann

Robert Grohmann (born April 15, 1854 in Würbenthal ; † November 26, 1907 Gasteig (Kirchdorf) near St. Johann) was an Austrian industrialist .

Life

Robert Grohmann was the eldest son of the Austrian industrialist Adolf Grohmann . He studied at Aachen Polytechnic Engineering . In 1873 he was here at the Corps Rhenania recipiert . In 1884 he joined his father's company as a partner. His father had founded a factory for the processing of wire rod in Würbenthal in 1867. By introducing various technical innovations, Robert Grohmann developed the company significantly. In 1896, on his initiative, the Silesian wire drawing, chain and wire drawing factories were united by founding the Moravian-Silesian AG for the wire industry , which later became the Oderberg cable and wire industry . Under his leadership, the company Adolf Grohmann & Sohn started producing wire fences, small metal goods and steel goods.

After the death of Robert Grohmann, the company was continued by two other generations of the family until it was expropriated by the Czech state in 1945. His grandson Lothar Grohmann founded the company Adolf Grohmann & Sohn in Bielstein again after the expulsion .

Robert Grohmann was a cousin of Emil Grohmann .
