Robert H. Garff
Robert Heiner Garff (* 15. September 1942 , † 29. March 2020 ) was an American politician of the Republican and businessman. Garff was Speaker of the House of Representatives of the State of Utah from 1985 to 1987 , of which he was a member from 1978 to 1987, and co-organizer of the 2002 Winter Olympics .
Life
Robert "Bob" Garff was CEO of the Ken Garff Automotive Group , an automobile dealership founded by his father in 1932 . The company is considered one of the largest vehicle dealers in Utah and has offices in five other states .
Garff chaired the committee that brought the Winter Olympics to Salt Lake City . He was not involved in a committee bribery scandal.
Bob Garff died in March 2020 at the age of 77 from complications from a SARS-CoV-2 infection during the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States .
