Robert Heinrich Weber

Robert Heinrich Weber (born January 16, 1964 in Dortmund ) is a German diplomat . He has been Ambassador to Montenegro since September 2018 .

career

After graduating from high school in 1983, Robert Weber began studying geography , theology and classical philology (1983–1990) and received his doctorate in geography in 1992.

Weber completed the preparatory service for the higher foreign service from 1992 to 1994. He then moved to Rome , first at the permanent representation at the international organizations in Rome as 2nd secretary for EU coordination and then until 1997 as 2nd secretary in the economic service. After a position in the CFSP department in the Foreign Office, Weber was appointed 1st Secretary and Counselor in the Political Department of the New Delhi Embassy in 2000 . He stayed there until 2004 and then became deputy consul general in Canton . After a further period in the Foreign Office (office of the State Secretaries), Weber was Deputy Head of the Lisbon Embassy from 2011 to 2014 , then came back to the Foreign Office as an inspector.

In September 2018 Weber was appointed ambassador in Podgorica / Montenegro .
