Robert J. Litt

Robert J. Litt (born before 1965) is an American sound engineer .

Life

Litt began his career in television in the mid-1960s, where he initially focused on documentaries and television specials. In 1977 he received a Primetime Emmy nomination for his work on the miniseries Roots . In the same year he made the switch to film and only worked sporadically on television productions; one of his first film projects was Star Wars . Until his retirement from the film business in 2000, he was involved in a total of 135 feature films. In 1989 he was nominated for the first time for an Oscar in the category Best Sound for Mississippi Burning - The Root of Hate . For this film he won the BAFTA Film Award in the Best Sound category the following year . In 1995 he was nominated again for an Oscar for The Condemned , a third and final nomination came in 2000 for The Green Mile .
