Robert Kaleski

Robert Kaleski (born January 19, 1877 in Burwood , Sydney , New South Wales , † December 1, 1961 in Hammondville , Sydney) was an Australian journalist, writer, cynologist and dog breeder.

In addition to dog breeding, Kaleski was the author of numerous articles on dog breeds such as the Australian Cattle Dog , Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog, and Kelpie . In 1903 he published the first breed standard of the Australian Cattle Dog. His book "Australian Barkers and Biters" , first published in 1914, was a compilation of some of his articles and essays. The 1933 edition was a complete overhaul in which he set out his theories about the ancestry of the domestic dog and described the Australian dingo as the world's first dog.
