Arensharde

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Arensharde ( Danish : Arns Herred ) was a harde in the Duchy of Schleswig that belonged to the Istathesyssel . It is located west of the city of Schleswig on the Schleswig Geest . The Tingstätte was in Schuby (in German about Walddorf ).

The Arensharde later came to the Gottorf office , which was opened in the Schleswig district in 1867 . The Arensharde is already mentioned in King Waldemar's Book of Earth from 1231 . The Viking settlement Haithabu and its North Sea port Hollingstedt on the Treene were located in the Arensharde.

Place names such as Arenholz still point to the Arensharde today. The name comes back to life in the municipal administration association Amt Arensharde , which was founded in 2008 .
