Robert Kehl (* 1914 ; † March 2001 ) was a Swiss lawyer and church critic .

Life

After graduating from a missionary school, Robert Kehl studied scholastic philosophy and theology . After many years of religious doubts, he left the church and studied law . After completing his doctorate, he worked as a consultant in marriage matters at the Zurich Higher Court and as a lecturer in special areas of marriage law at the University of Zurich . He published numerous legal works for the practice of courts and lawyers.

He was also the president of an association for sexual reform . During this time, sex and false guilt arose .

After his marriage, Robert Kehl began studying the Bible and church history for the sake of his pietistic wife. He saw a fundamental and disastrous failure of the church , which prompted him to publish numerous publications critical of Christianity and the church and also to publish the journal Universelle Religion , which appeared from 1979 to 1992.

From 1984 Robert Kehl was a board member of the Swiss Association for Human Dying Exit (Switzerland) and became a specialist in ethical and legal problems related to euthanasia . He wrote the standard work on assisted dying. Ethical and legal principles and the work The Rights of the Dead .

After his retirement he worked as a lawyer for eight years and was committed to environmental and health protection, from which his Arlesheim contributions were made.

The church criticism

According to Kehl's conviction, the Christianity of the churches and fundamentalists is not the religion of Jesus, but that of Paul, i.e. Paulinism . The most important positions of this religion (doctrine of salvation, moral doctrine, Christology, the priesthood and the sacraments) are based on the writings of Paul.
