Robert Kohlrausch

Robert Kohlrausch (born October 14, 1850 in Hanover , † March 3, 1934 in Munich ) was a German architect and later a journalist and author of detective novels at the beginning of the 20th century.

Life

Kohlrausch studied from 1869 to 1874 at the Polytechnic School in Hanover, among others with Conrad Wilhelm Hase. Before switching to journalism, he worked as a government building manager . He then became an editor at the Hannoverscher Courier . His 1901 debut novel was titled The Widow's House , which was followed in 1903 by a parody of Sherlock Holmes , In the Darkroom . His work German Memories in Italy saw several editions. This was followed by other volumes on the rule of Germanic princes and German emperors in Italy.
