Robert Meowth

Robert Mauzi (* 1927 in Toulouse ; † August 8, 2006 ) was a French Romance studies and literary scholar.

life and work

Mauzi graduated from the École normal supérieure , was a scholarship holder of the Fondation Thiers (1950), where he met Michel Foucault , worked as (as an assistant at the University of Lyon) in Paris and in 1960 with the two theses L'Idée du bonheur dans la littérature et la pensée françaises au XVIIIe siècle (Paris 1960, Geneva / Paris 1979, Paris 1994) and (ed.) Mme Du Châtelet, Discours sur le bonheur (Paris 1961). From 1962 to 1969 he was a professor at the University of Lyon , from 1970 at the University of Paris IV .
