Robert North (dancer)
Robert North (* 1945 in Charleston, South Carolina ) is an American dancer and choreographer .
Robert North studied dance at the Royal Ballet School London and the London Contemporary Dance Theater . He returned to the USA as a trained dancer and danced in the Martha Graham Company in New York , among others . In 1981 he became Artistic Director of the Ballet Rambert in London. In 1990 he became the ballet director of the Teatro Regio in Turin. After several other positions in Europe, Robert North became ballet director at the United City Theaters of Krefeld and Mönchengladbach in 2010 . During his various activities Robert North created over 100 choreographies and has worked with over 95 ballet companies worldwide.
