Robert S. Bennett
Robert S. Bennett (* 1939 in Brooklyn , New York ) is an American attorney and former attorney for Bill Clinton against Paula Jones . Bennett was also a defense attorney for the US energy company Enron , which had to file for bankruptcy in 2001 after massive balance sheet falsifications.
Life
He graduated from Brooklyn Prep in 1957 and received a BA from Georgetown University in 1961, an LL.B. in Georgetown in 1964 and an LL.M. at Harvard Law School in 1965. From 1965 to 1967 he was the clerk of Howard Francis Corcoran , a judge on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia . In September 2009, Bennett joined Hogan & Hartson as an attorney .
Bennett served on the National Review Board for the Protection of Children and Young People from 2002 to 2004 , established by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the United States .
He is the older brother of William J. Bennett , former Secretary of Education and Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy . He is the author of In The Ring: The Trials of a Washington Lawyer (2008).
