Róbert Szádowsky or - Romanian - Robert Sadowski (born August 16, 1914 ) was a Romanian football goalkeeper of Polish descent. He played a total of 161 games in the highest Romanian football league, Divizia A , and took part in the 1938 World Cup.
Career
Szádowsky began his career at Muncitorul Cernăuţi , which at that time in the Chernivtsi Championship , the regional base of the Divizia A , played. In 1935 he joined the top division team from AMEF Arad . With AMEFA he was runner- up in the 1935/36 season. In 1938 Szádowsky moved to league rivals Juventus Bucharest .
At Juventus, however, the hoped-for sporting success did not materialize. After relegation at the end of the 1939/40 season, Szádowsky moved to Rapid Bucharest , which was part of the Romanian top. Due to the outbreak of the Second World War , Divizia A could no longer continue to play from 1941, so that he only played in the unofficial transition championship ( Bessarabia Cup ) and in the Romanian Cup , which he won in 1940 , 1941 and 1942 could win with Rapid.
After the war, Szádowsky resumed at Rapid, which had since changed its name to CFR Bucharest . In 1947 he moved to the league rivals Ciocanul Bucharest , from which Dinamo Bucharest emerged in May 1948 . In the same year Szádowsky ended his career.
National team
Szádowsky played five games for the Romanian national soccer team , including the replay against Cuba as part of the 1938 World Cup in France . He made his debut in the national team on September 8, 1937 against Yugoslavia .
