Robert Schwan
Robert Schwan (born November 20, 1921 in Munich , † July 13, 2002 in Kitzbühel ) was a German football manager.
Schwan joined FC Bayern in 1962 as an honorary chairman of the game committee. In 1964 he became the first full-time manager in German football and at the same time personal manager of Franz Beckenbauer . This personal conflict of interest led in 1977 when Beckenbauer moved to Cosmos New York to Schwan's dismissal as Bayern manager. He was followed by Walter Fembeck after. Schwan was later a member of the Hertha BSC supervisory board .
With his innovations, Schwan played a key role in Bayern Munich's rise to the top of Europe. His most famous sentence was: "I only know two sensible people: Robert Schwan in the morning and Robert Schwan in the afternoon."
