Johannes Robert Schyberg (born July 8, 1872 in Copenhagen , † December 19, 1946 in Ordrup ) was a Danish actor .

Johannes Robert Schyberg was the son of corporal and clerk Johan Sophus Schyberg (1852 - approx. 1900) and Julie Charlotte Amalia Elmgreen (1850–1898). From 1888 he received training in acting and ballet at the Royal Theater . From 1892 to 1896 he made his debut at Dagmarteatret in Copenhagen and then worked at various private theaters until 1899.

From 1899 to 1919 Schyberg was a permanent member of the Royal Theater. From 1912 to 1917 he worked for Nordisk Film and SRH . and acted in around 30 silent films . In 1912 he wrote the screenplay for the film Spejderen , and in 1917 he also directed the film Forbryderkongens Datter .

In 1900 Schyberg was a scandal involved: He slapped the theater critic and later Danish Finance Minister Edvard Brandes in the street after it in the newspaper policies "scornful" about Schybergs game as a lover Leonard in the play Mester Gert Westphaler of Ludvig Holberg expressed would have. Brandes then challenged him to a duel because Schyberg did not want to apologize to him. The two fought a bloodless but sensational duel with pistols in the Ermelunden forest area, part of the Jægersborg Dyrehave deer park . Neither of the two duelists could land a hit. Since duels were forbidden, both men were sentenced to 14 days in prison each. This duel was probably the last that was played in Denmark.

Because of his poor health, Schyberg retired in 1919, and he bought the photo studio of court photographer Mary Steen , which he ran for a short time. In 1922 he took over a cinema in Charlottenlund , which he ran until his death; then his wife Ingrid continued to run the cinema. In 1941 Schyberg published his memoir Billeder på væggen ( Pictures on the Wall ).

Robert Schyberg was married twice: first marriage from 1905 to actress Dagny Lange, and second marriage from 1919 to Ingrid Jacobsen. From each marriage there was a son, one of the two was the theater critic Frederik Schyberg (1905–1950).
