Robert Scoble (born January 18, 1965 ) is an American author and blogger.

Life

Robert Scoble was born in New Jersey in 1965 and grew up near Apple Computer's headquarters . He then studied journalism at San José State University , where he met Steve Wozniak and was able to encourage a donation to the chair. After leaving university without a degree and his blog becoming widely known in the IT scene, Scoble accepted a position as an evangelist for the Longhorn operating system at Microsoft. He was then described by the media and experts as the company's most influential networker:

“He has become a minor celebrity among geeks worldwide, who read his blog religiously. Impressively, he has also succeeded where small armies of more conventional public-relations types have been failing abjectly for years: he has made Microsoft, with its history of monopolistic bullying, appear marginally but noticeably less evil to the outside world, and especially to the independent software developers that are his core audience. In June 2006, Scoble left Microsoft to do podcasts at PodTech . In 2006 he changed positions again and founded FastCompany.TV, a video portal for the Fast Company magazine . From 2009 Scoble worked at Rackspace as a startup liaison officer , where he said he was responsible for relationships with young companies . In March 2016 he announced that he would work for UploadVR , a media company in San Francisco.

Scoble is one of the first owners of a Google Glass and he regularly reports on its use on his blog.
