Robert Vrečer (born October 8, 1980 ) is a former Slovenian cyclist .

Life

Robert Vrečer became Slovenian MTB Cross Country Champion in 2004 .

His international road cycling career began in 2006 with the Slovenian Continental Team Radenska Powerbar . In 2008 and 2009 he won a total of five one-day races on the UCI Europe Tour . In 2010 he won the overall ratings of the Istrian Spring Trophy and the Tour of Slovakia . In 2011 he again won the Istrian Spring Trophy and also the Szlakiem Grodów Piastowskich stage race . In 2012 he won the Slovenian championship in the individual time trial as well as the Tour of Hellas and the Tour of Upper Austria . He then received a contract with the UCI ProTeam Euskaltel Euskadi for 2013 and won the mountain and sprint class at the Tour de Suisse in 2013 .

In May 2014, he was banned for 20 months because he tested positive for clomiphene on the Tour of Poland in 2013 . He did not return to cycling.
