Robert Wagner (politician, 1928)

Robert Wagner (born July 20, 1928 in St. Wendel ; † May 19, 2014 ) was a German CDU politician .

Wagner, who joined the CDU in 1961, was elected first member of the district council in November 1964 and was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the district council of St. Wendel until 1994 . On May 4, 1975 he was elected to the Saarland state parliament for the first time , to which he was a member until 1990. For a time he was deputy chairman of the parliamentary group of the CDU, and he also chaired the committee for internal administration.

Other engagement

From 1958 to 1963 Wagner was managing director of the German Red Cross in St. Wendel. He founded the music school in St. Wendel and was district chairman of the St. Wendel music group from 1982 to 2001. In 1984 he was involved in the establishment of the St. Wendel training and advanced training association. On July 26th 1997 Wagner founded the Christian Hospizhilfe im Landkreis St. Wendel eV, until 2009 he was the chairman of this care association. In November 2000 he set up the Emmaus inpatient hospice in St. Wendel.
