Robert Wampfler

Robert Wampfler (born January 10, 1896 , † after 1936) was a Swiss cross-country skier and Olympian.

Life

Wampfler took part in the 1928 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz for Switzerland and started the 50 kilometer race on February 14, 1928 . In the memorable race, which was characterized by unusually high temperatures of up to +8.5 degrees, he finished 17th with a time of 5:42:40 hours.

During his participation in the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1930 at Holmenkollen, he was unable to build on these achievements and only finished 79th over 17 kilometers and 65th over 50 kilometers.

From 1933 to 1936 Wampfler was president of the Zweisimmen ski club , his home club.
