from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Roberto Gavioli (born June 16, 1926 in Milan ; † August 8, 2007 there ) was an Italian animated film director .

Life

Gavioli worked as the creator of numerous commercials and animated sequences for Italian television in the 1960s, such as for Carosello and other programs. To this end, he and his brother Gino founded the production company Gamma Film in 1953 . For the cinema he created a few short cartoons, including La lunga calza verde , on which Cesare Zavattini also worked. Only occasionally, especially between 1968 and 1975, did he deal with full-length films - but then with good (also commercial) success.

For animation techniques, Gavioli developed a three-dimensional process with the French Jean Dejou in the early 1980s; in the 1990s he was engaged in theme parks.
