Roberto La Rocca

Roberto La Rocca (born July 9, 1991 in Caracas ) is a Venezuelan racing car driver .

Career

La Rocca began his motorsport career in formula racing in 2008 . At first he mainly competed in North America. In the 2008/2009 season he was fourth in the Skip Barber Southern Regional Series . In 2009 La Rocca started in the Skip Barber National Championship and remained without points. After a one-year break, he returned to motorsport in 2011. With a second place as the best result, La Rocca finished fifth in the F2000 Championship Series . He also took part in the SCCA Southeast Division National Formula Continental , in which he finished eighth, and in the winter series of the Formula Car Challenge . In 2012, La Rocca stayed in the F2000 Championship Series. He managed to win eleven of fourteen races and win the title. In addition, La Rocca took part in a European racing series for the first time in the European F3 Open in 2012 . There he reached tenth place overall for the West-Tec F3 team .

In 2013, La Rocca moved completely to Europe. First, he announced that he would compete for Bamboo Engineering in the GP3 series in 2013 . However, after the death of the Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez , La Rocca terminated his GP3 contract, as the country's funding was no longer certain due to the uncertain political situation. Instead, La Rocca initially stayed with the West-Tec F3 team in the European F3 Open. He started the season with a third place. After the third event, he lost his cockpit. He was finally in 14th place in the championship. In addition, La Rocca took part in an event of the British Formula 3 Championship for Team West-Tec and in three Auto GP race weekends for Comtec by Virtousi .
