Roberto Javier Mina Mercado (born November 7, 1984 in Guayaquil ) is a former Ecuadorian football player .

The striker played in Ecuador for CS Emelec , Deportivo Quevedo , Liga de Loja and El Nacional Quito, and for CA Huracán in Argentina. In 2005 he moved to the US Major League Soccer for FC Dallas . In the 2007 season he fell out after a knee injury in a preparation game for the entire season. An intended move to Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy in the Argentine first division failed in April 2008. In September 2008 he was presented as a new addition to the Argentine second division club CA Belgrano . From there he moved back to Centro Deportivo Olmedo in Ecuador in April 2009 . In 2010 he played for Macará before returning to his hometown club CS Emelec for the 2011 season. He made nine appearances and joined league rivals Manta FC in early 2012 . There he became a regular and returned to CS Emelec after a year. No further use was made there. Mina moved to Los Loros Sangolquí in the fourth division in early 2014. A year later he made another attempt in Serie B at the Fuerza Amarilla Sporting Club , but was only used three times. He went back to the fourth division and ended his career in 2016.

For the Ecuadorian national soccer team , he played a total of 12 international matches between 2003 and 2006 and qualified with her for the 2006 World Cup . However, he was not included in the World Cup squad by national coach Luis Fernando Suárez.
