The Series B is the second Ecuadorian Football League. It was founded in 1971 and has been called Liga Pro Serie B since 2019 . The organizer is the Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol . 10 teams take part, of which the first two are promoted to Serie A and the last two are relegated to the Segunda Categoría .
mode
The season is initially played in two rounds, each with 18 game days, in which all teams meet in home and return matches. After 36 match days, the last two teams relegated to the Segunda Categoría . The best four teams qualify for the semi-finals, in which the first plays against the fourth and the second against the third. The two finalists move up to Serie A and play out the champions.
