Roberto Abdenur

Roberto Pinto Ferreira Mameri Abdenur (born May 5, 1942 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian diplomat .

Career

Abdenur entered the service of Itamaraty at the age of 20 . From 1985 to 1988 he was his country's ambassador to Ecuador . This was followed by positions as ambassador in Beijing , Berlin and Vienna . Most recently he was ambassador to the United States . Two days after the re-election of President Lula da Silva in autumn 2006, he asked for his dismissal because of his anti-American foreign policy.
