Roberto Yanés

Roberto Yanés ( Roberto César Iannacone ; born April 25, 1932 in Córdoba ; † May 30, 2019 ) was an Argentine singer , composer and actor .

Yanés completed a musical education at the Conservatorio Provincial de Música in his hometown and performed there with the Los Changos del Portezuelo . After serving in the military, he went to Buenos Aires in 1956. There he joined the group Los 5 Latinos , but soon afterwards began a career as a soloist on the advice of its founder Ricardo Romero .

In 1958 he signed a contract with the CBS , and he made his first recordings such as Donde estará mi vida and El espejo . He became known through radio and television broadcasts, toured Argentina and abroad, and Astor Piazolla asked him in the 1960s to record tango classics such as Cafetin de Buenos Aires , Margarita Gauthier , Fuimos and Griseta . He was successful with classics such as Contigo en la Distancia , El Reloj , Inolvidable and Usted , but also with his own compositions such as Querer como nadie and Te desafío .
