In the first 10 kilometers it flows through the lakes Caribou Pond and Sandy Pond . At river kilometer 7, the Trans-Canada Highway crosses the river. The Route 404 crosses the river one km above the mouth. The Robinsons River finally flows into St. George's Bay 37 km south of Stephenville . To the north of the estuary is the Robinsons settlement . The Middle Barachois River runs in the lower reaches about one kilometer south of the Robinsons River. The drainage basin of the Robinsons River is estimated to be 380 km². It borders in the north on that of Fischells Brook , in the south on that of the Middle Barachois River and in the east on that of the Lloyds River .
