Rock north
Rock Nord was a monthly, right-wing extremist and neo-Nazi music magazine from North Rhine-Westphalia , which is considered the leading German right-wing rock magazine. It was published from 1997 to 2005. According to their own information, it was produced in an edition of 17,000 copies. The magazine called itself a "patriotic magazine", but is controversial in the neo-Nazi scene, as there are allegations that the topics of nationalism and patriotism are only used out of pure business acumen and not out of conviction. As a result, there have already been calls for a boycott. Today there is still an online shop and an internet forum .
Presentation
The magazine, which mostly consisted of around 50 pages, was printed on glossy paper, which makes it look different from other magazines in the scene. The texts seem factual and apolitical, but also contain political statements. For example, the neo-Nazi songwriter Frank Rennicke was described in the magazine as "critical of the regime".
The CD reviews are about releases by neo-Nazi bands such as 08/15 , Division Viking, THOR, United Blood, Sturmwehr or Spirit of 88, but there are also reviews about releases by non-political bands.
Clearly neo-Nazi content was found e.g. B. in the form of a television program ( Kanal 88 , Kabel 33 , Nord 14 ), where bands like Zillertaler Türkenjäger ( live in the studio: Die Zillertaler TJ ) or Landser ( history magazine . Variations of the names of National Socialist politicians (Herrmann Göring, Alfons Hinkel) and still living activists of the neo-Nazi scene such as Siegfried Borchardt , Frank Rennicke or Jens Arpe were also used. The articles also contain slogans of numbers and elements from the neo-Nazi scene.
The magazine contained advertisements for neo-Nazi products and clothing, such as Pühse's list, the right-wing rock label of the NPD politician Jens Pühse .
