The Rocky Point is a headland on the west side of the Antarctic Ross Island . It is located between Horseshoe Bay and Maumee Bight .
Participants in the Nimrod Expedition (1907-1909), led by the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton, discovered and mapped them. It was named after its rocky ( English rocky ) texture.
