Rodrigo Oliveira da Silva Alvim (born November 25, 1983 in Porto Alegre ) is a former Brazilian football player .

Career

Alvim started playing football at his hometown club Gremio Porto Alegre . There he rose to the first division squad. Halfway through the 2004 season, he moved to the second division SER Caxias do Sul . After Caxias had missed relegation, he stayed in the second division and joined Vila Nova , but went back to Paraná Clube the following year .

In the summer of 2006, the left defender moved to Europe to Belenenses Lisbon . With the Portuguese, he was fifth in the national championship in the 2006/07 season and was in the cup final. In the 2007/08 season he played with Belenenses in the UEFA Cup , but was eliminated against FC Bayern Munich in the first round. The championship was completed eighth. In the two years at the Portuguese capital club, Alvim was a regular player and made 57 league appearances.

For the 2008/09 season , the Brazilian moved to VfL Wolfsburg , where he signed a three-year contract. In his first season in Germany, Alvim was able to win the German championship title with the Wolves , even if he was not able to assert himself in the squad and was only used twice at the beginning of the season.

During the winter break of the 2009/10 season, the contract between Alvim and Wolfsburg was dissolved and he moved to Flamengo Rio de Janeiro in his home country . In the 2012 season he was under contract with Joinville EC , from where he moved to Paysandu Sport Club in 2013 . It was hardly ever used on either station. In the fall of 2014, he moved to the United States, where he ended his career in late 2016.
