Rodrigo Oswaldo Chaves Samudio (born May 29, 1962 in Mérida ) is a Venezuelan diplomat .

Life

Rodrigo Oswaldo Chaves Samudio studied medicine at the Andean University in Mérida. This was followed by a three-year study of general surgery at the Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas until 1991 . He then took on various functions in the Venezuelan healthcare system.

In 2004, he was the office manager of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez from January to April . In 2005, he was sent to Italy as the Venezuelan ambassador . He was also ambassador to Malta and to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). From 2006 onwards, he was his country's Deputy Foreign Minister responsible for Europe until he became Ambassador to Greece in 2008 . In 2012 he moved to the office of Venezuelan Ambassador to Germany .
